SAP Concur announced a series of AI innovations and ecosystem integrations designed to embed travel and expense management directly into employees’ daily workflows while simplifying compliance and payments. The enhancements were announced at SAP Concur Fusion 2026, the company’s annual customer conference.

Among the changes:
• Expanded Joule AI capabilities (Joule is SAP’s new generative‑AI assistant built directly into Concur Travel & Expense to automate tasks, answer questions and streamline spend management.)
• A new Joule integration with Microsoft 365 Copilot embeds travel and expense tasks directly into Microsoft apps. Employees can create and submit expense reports, upload receipts, book travel, track status and receive policy guidance in SAP Concur solutions without leaving their productivity tools.

Two new Joule agents:
• Expense Automation Agent automatically creates and populates expense reports for employees so all they have to do is review, refine and submit.
• Expense Pre-Submit Audit Agent validates receipts and flags discrepancies before submission to reduce report rejection and reimbursement delays.
• New AI-based rule creation tools simplify the complex task of managing policy rules in Concur Travel, Concur Expense, and Complete by SAP Concur and Amex GBT, especially for administrators without a technical background.
• With the power of the SAP Business Suite, the SAP Sales Cloud solution — now integrated with Booking Agent — enables salespeople to use Joule within the SAP Sales Cloud solution to book travel for planned client visits.

Travel Experience Enhancements:
• New innovations to Complete in partnership with Amex GBT include the availability of AI-powered travel support with hand-off to a live travel counselor and a specialized home page for travel managers. Concur • Expense will also integrate with Amex GBT’s travel management platform, Egencia, for customers worldwide.
• TripIt Pro Image, along with Apple Intelligence and expanded risk alerts, will help travelers organize itineraries and monitor disruptions.

Expense and Payments
• SAP and American Express joint customers can now create and manage Amex virtual cards in Concur Expense, supporting secure digital payments and reducing out-of-pocket costs.

• A new partnership with Visa to integrate Concur Expense and the Visa platform enables real-time notifications from Visa card swipes to automatically create expenses.
