Turkish Airlines named the aggregators through which it will expand its New Distribution Capability content. As of Sept. 1, that content is no longer available on Sabre because the two parties were not able to come to a distribution agreement.
The carrier’s TKConnect NDC program will be available through Travelfusion, Verteil, DRCT, Mystifly, Nuua, Nuflights and Theta. This collaboration, said the carrier in a statement, “marks a significant milestone in enhancing the travel experience of passengers by enabling its partners to have seamless access to Turkish Airlines’ extensive global network and services.”
The airline wrote in an email to travel advisors that “despite the positive and constructive approach Turkish Airlines has shown in continuing its participation in Sabre under similar conditions as with our other GDS partners, this effort has not been reciprocated by Sabre.” Sabre has told advisors that it is open to continuing negotiations with the airline.
In a statement, Ahmet Olmuştur, chief commercial officer of Turkish Airlines, said the aggregators have a proven track record of delivering top-tier distribution solutions, and their expertise will be instrumental in maximizing the reach and impact of TKConnect. This initiative, he said, “reflects our shared vision of providing superior travel solutions and exceptional service to our customers.” By embracing NDC technology, said Olmuştur, “we are paving the way for a more connected and efficient travel ecosystem.” Image: Sgutterstock
