The Apartment Network (TAN), a platform for extended-stay accommodations, announced a new functionality that allows customers to include carbon offsetting for accommodations within its inquiry and booking process.
The company cited a recent survey from the Global Business Travel Association that showed 92% of business travel professionals consider sustainability a top priority for their organizations.
Marcos Isaac, CEO, said that TAN has effectively offset its business travel “and it made sense to offer our clients the same opportunity.” He said the company recognizes that offsetting is not the sole solution, “but it allows TAN to invest in the future, in renewable energy projects.”
Adding this functionality, according to the announcement, follows a yearlong process to track and offset carbon emissions associated with TAN’s own business travel. While operating as a fully remote business, TAN recognizes the necessity of face-to-face meetings and attending industry events, underscoring the importance of offsetting associated emissions.
Customers can be confident in the credibility of TAN’s carbon offsetting initiatives, according to the announcement, with all projects on the platform adhering to the highest standards, certified by national and international bodies. Image: Courtesy of The Apartment Network
