When Travel Troubles Strike­

Handling travel disruptions is a dirty job, but somebody’s got to do it
The cover of this month’s Business Travel Executive depicts an all-too-familiar scenario for today’s corporate travel: The storm is raging outside, the plane is waiting at the gate and road warrior is sitting, head in hand, wondering what to do next. Every frequent traveler can identify because all of us have been there at one time or another.

For the travel manager, irregular operations (IROPS in airline parlance) are more than an inconvenience; they are a waste of valuable company resources, driving up costs, squandering opportunities and frittering away the traveler’s time.
