SAS announced that it will add Atlanta to its North American network next summer. The carrier will begin daily nonstop flights from Copenhagen to the Georgia city on June 17, using Airbus A330 aircraft.
The airline said it is also increasing frequencies to the US this summer. The Copenhagen-New York (JFK) route will have up to two daily flights, complementing the existing daily flights to New York-Newark Airport from Stockholm, Oslo and Copenhagen. Copenhagen to Boston flights will operate daily, up from six times a week, during summertime. In addition, a fourth weekly flight will be added from Copenhagen to Toronto.
Anko van der Werff, CEO, said that through an agreement with Delta Air Lines, passengers can continue their journey on other Delta-served destinations out of Atlanta. This development, according to the announcement, means an expanded offering for SAS passengers, who can look forward to reaching new destinations across the southern US, Caribbean and Latin America, all conveniently accessible from Atlanta.
