Yapta, a provider of airfare and hotel price tracking services, has achieved Service Organization Control 2 (SOC 2) compliance status, validating its controls and processes that safeguard sensitive customer travel data. James Filsinger, CEO, said that achieving SOC 2 compliance demonstrates the company’s commitment to building confidence within the travel industry. Yapta serves more than 6,500 enterprise customers in more than 20 countries, monitoring over $7.5 billion in travel spend. As part of the compliance process, an independent third-party audit firm confirmed that Yapta’s security policies, measures and procedures protect the travel itinerary data observed and managed by Yapta’s IQ technology. The examination focused on Yapta’s adherence to the Trust Service Principles and criteria set forth by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, which created the SOC guidelines to provide a benchmark for service organizations to demonstrate implementation of proper control procedures and practices.
