BCD Travel has taken full ownership of its operation in Brazil after purchasing all outstanding shares from its current joint venture partner, Antonio Fernando Slomp. The acquisition, according to BCD, positions the company for further growth in Brazil, where BCD has about 300 employees. The joint venture began in October 2013. Since then, BCD has upgraded telephony infrastructure, instituted new workflow management processes, implemented a back-office system and improved training and development. With the move to full ownership, BCD will continue investing in technology and solutions aimed at enhancing service, improving data and offering other benefits for clients in Brazil. Slomp and his travel management company, Avipam, have been part of the BCD Travel network since 2006. He said the two companies will continue to collaborate on any mutually beneficial opportunities that arise for either Brazilian or global corporations.
