American Airlines will launch new service from Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport (airport code ECP) near Panama City to Charlotte and Dallas/Fort Worth on June 7. Those airports serve as two of American’s largest hubs, opening up East and West Coast destinations for passengers from the Florida airport. American joins Delta, Southwest and United in offering service from ECP, which opened in 2010. The new year-round flights will be operated by a CRJ-700 with nine seats in first class and 56 in the main cabin. Parker W. McClellan, Jr., executive director of the airport, said the new service will provide passengers with more nonstop destinations and easy access to global connections through the Dallas/Fort Worth and Charlotte hubs. American operates about 760 flights daily from DFW, providing access to more than 206 destinations in 30 countries. The carrier has more than 675 daily flights from Charlotte to 56 destinations in 25 countries.
