Advantage Travel Partnership, a TMC network, announced that Pelin Dede will become head of accommodation for an upcoming hotel program joint venture from Advantage and Hickory Global Partners, a corporate travel consortium. The program, called Global Stays, is scheduled to launch in 2025. Dede most recently worked for CWT as the senior manager of global suppliers. She has also had roles with Expedia and Orbitz.
Allegiant Travel Company will promote its president Greg Anderson to CEO as of Sept. 1 as current CEO Maury Gallagher steps down. Anderson has been with Allegiant since 2010 and served as CFO curing the pandemic before transitioning to president. Gallagher was Allegiant’s CEO for 21 years before stepping aside in June 2022. He returned to the post last October after the sudden departure of John Redmond. Gallagher will continue in his role as Allegiant’s board chairman.
Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI) announced the retirement of its CEO, Bob Gilbert, who headed the organization for 30 years. According to the announcement, he has “accelerated” his retirement plan as a result of a serious health issue. During his tenure, Gilbert brought HSMAI’s regional affiliates across the globe under HSMAI Global, launched many new chapters in the US and abroad, led the creation and rapid growth of HSMAI’s Strategy Conferences and helped introduce multiple professional certification categories. He has also led the HSMAI Foundation, with a mission of talent attraction, growth and retention. Juli Jones, senior vice president, will serve as interim managing director while a search process continues.
