Flight Centre Travel Group has named Scott Alboni as global chief marketing officer for the corporate businesses of FCM Travel and Corporate Traveler. He has been promoted into the role following six years as senior vice president of marketing for FCM Travel globally; he replaces Frits de Kok, who will become leader of the FCM Meetings & Events business in Europe/Middle East/Africa. According to the announcement, Alboni led the rebrand of the entire business during the pandemic to ensure that it came out stronger on the other side — as well as achieving other notable successes like the rollout of the FCM Platform for customers.
Hilton announced that Phil Cordell will retire after over 40 years with the company. He will serve as a mentor and coach. Cordell began his career as a bellman, and he rose through the ranks to eventually lead the operator’s all-suites and focused service brands for more than 20 years. In addition to overseeing the Hampton by Hilton brand, he has also led Hilton Garden Inn, Embassy Suites and Homewood Suites. In his most recent role as global head of lifestyle and new brand development, Cordell led the creation and launch of Home2 Suites, Tru, Motto, Tempo and Spark.
