The airlines of the Lufthansa Group are planning to resume their flights to Tel Aviv on Jan. 8. In a first phase, Lufthansa Airlines will initially offer four weekly departures from Tel Aviv to Frankfurt and three weekly flights to Munich. Austrian Airlines is planning eight weekly connections to Vienna, and Swiss five weekly flights departing from Tel Aviv to Zurich.
With this first step, the group’s airlines will offer a total of 20 weekly connections to and from Tel Aviv. This corresponds to around 30% of the regular flight schedule. The carriers will operate aircraft from the Airbus A320 family on these routes.
This flight schedule, according to an announcement, offers good transfer connections from Israel to North America and back via group hubs in Frankfurt, Munich, Vienna and Zurich.
According to the announcement, safety is always a top priority for the airlines in the group. As a result, the company continues to monitor the security situation in Israel closely and is in close contact with local and international authorities. Possible flight schedule adjustments must be expected due to changing conditions.
The group’s airlines suspended their scheduled flights to and from Tel Aviv on Oct. 9.
