East Brunswick, N.J. — 
The 133-room Best Western Rutgers University Hotel has opened just outside the school. It features fitness and business centers, a —sundry shop, free breakfast and WiFi, and a sundeck/patio area. The hotel also offers 7,000 square feet of meeting space that can be broken up into eight separate rooms.

Nairobi, Kenya — The JW Marriott Hotel Nairobi has opened in the Westland commercial district; it is the second for the brand in the country and at 35 stories is the tallest hotel in the country. The 315-room hotel has five restaurants, a spa, swimming pool, fitness center and eight event spaces covering 18,300 square feet. An additional 51 serviced apartments and a sky bar and lounge are slated to open later in the year.

Texas City, Texas — The 52-room Best Western Texas City I-45 has opened 20 minutes from Galveston after the major refreshing of what had been a SureStay hotel. Guestrooms have 55-inch Smart TVs with streaming services, mini-fridges, microwaves and free WiFi. Amenities include a 24-hour fitness center, free breakfast, an outdoor pool and laundry services. The hotel also has meeting space and a business center featuring complimentary computer usage, printing, faxing and scanning.

Perth, Australia — Courtyard by Marriott Perth, Murdoch has opened with 150 rooms in the city’s Murdoch area. Located about 10 minutes from the central business district and 25 minutes from the airport, the property has an all-day restaurant, several spaces for meetings and a 24-hour fitness center.

Tirana, Albania — The 64-room Mercure Tirana has opened near the airport and a highway that connects the capital with the coastal city of Durrës. The property offers a conference center for up to 120 people, a restaurant, a sky bar and a rooftop swimming pool.

Madison, Wis. — The Medallion has opened with 21 furnished apartments designed to cater to the needs of corporate nomads; the minimum stay is 30 days. The one-and-half-year renovation project involved $1.2 million in upgrades to what had been an apartment building. Amenities include in-unit washer and dryer, private patios, underground parking and monthly social events. The units are stocked with linens and kitchen supplies. Extra services that can be arranged for guests include discounts on gym memberships, meal kits and activities around Madison.
