Frontier Airlines will launch nonstop service from multiple cities on 52 new routes from April through June. The additions mark a pivot from the low-cost carrier’s traditional focus on leisure destinations and include new flights from Dallas/Fort Worth, Charlotte, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, New York-LaGuardia, Chicago O’Hare and Detroit.
Josh Flyr, the carrier’s vice president of network and operations design, said in a statement that “this is a massive expansion of our operation from coast to coast and internationally as part of our focus on growing in underserved and overpriced routes.”
Dallas/Fort Worth will get the most new routes, with 14 flights launching in April and May, including to major hubs like Detroit, Minneapolis, Salt Lake City, Charlotte and Houston Bush Intercontinental. Other new destinations from Dallas/Fort Worth are Indianapolis; Omaha; and Grand Rapids, Mich.
Seven new routes from Charlotte include service to: New York-LaGuardia; Houston-Bush; Dallas/Fort Worth; Chicago O’Hare; Baltimore-Washington; Buffalo, New York; and San Juan, Puerto Rico.
