FCM Meetings & Events, a division of the Flight Centre Travel Group (FCTG), announced a global expansion of its business that will see a consolidation of all offices globally under the leadership of Simone Seiler as global general manager. Some offices had been operating under a previous brand name.
Seiler, who has several decades of experience including as a general manager with FCM M&E, said the company believes the meetings, events and event travel markets are “ripe for disruption worldwide.” With this investment, she said, “we’re well-positioned to capitalize on the growing demand for high-quality and personalized event experiences that has seen an exponential bounceback.”
It’s clear, said Seiler, that the demand for in-person connection continues to increase, with recent data showing conferences and events being one of the top two reasons for travel among both small-to-medium-sized enterprise owners and decision-makers. The company, said Seiler, is experiencing and anticipating a steady annual growth rate of demand at 12% year over year for in-person meetings.
Marcus Eklund, FCM global managing director, said the M&E division was the “not-so-secret jewel in the crown of the industry sector” and its expansion reflected the growing global in-person demand. He said FCM is a business that is “proudly global,” with a footprint in more than 100 countries worldwide. But, he added, “we stay loyal to our mantra of our ‘glocal’ approach where we have industry experts leading their own regional teams to cater for different cultural requirements.”
