Delta Air Lines finished 2023 as the most on-time large global airline in North America, with an on-time performance (OTP) of 83.21%, followed by: Alaska Airlines (OTP 81.04%), American Airlines (79.11%), United Airlines (78.67%) and Southwest Airlines (75.51%). The results come from OAG, the aviation data provider.
Minneapolis-St Paul International Airport ranked as the most on-time of largest airport in North America, with an OTP of 82.57%, followed by: Seattle-Tacoma International (82.50%) and Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International (81.86%).
According to John Grant, chief analyst for OAG, OTP is expected to improve in the coming year. He said strong results from major airlines and others “point to a collective effort by the industry to overcome challenges posed by manufacturing disruptions, supply chain challenges and operational pressures.”
He said performance should improve especially in the US market as major airlines and airports compete to cut down on delays to ensure travel satisfaction and loyalty.
