Airlines Reporting Corporation (ARC) announced the completion of TAP Air Portugal’s New Distribution Capability (NDC) integration with the ARC Direct Connect program. This partnership, according to the announcement, enables the airline to offer richer content and detailed information through its booking platforms for corporate travel buyers and travel agencies while providing a consistent settlement experience through ARC’s platform.
Justin Jovignot, director, commercial strategy and distribution at TAP, said the move is “a large, important step in the globalization of TAP’s new distribution strategy.” He said the carrier looks forward to welcoming agencies based in the US to its NDC platform throughout 2024 and beyond. Interested agencies, he said, are encouraged to contact their local TAP representative for more information.
ARC Direct Connect, according to the announcement, gives airlines the flexibility to implement distribution strategies that best suit their needs and manage travel agency partnerships.
Paige Blunt, senior manager of Direct Connect and ONE Order at ARC, said the integration “will help differentiate TAP’s products and create a more consistent shopping experience across channels with access to content previously only available in the airline’s direct channel.” Image: Shutterstock
