Amadeus announced it has expanded its strategic partnership with Expedia Group, with the travel technology company set to deploy New Distribution Capability (NDC) content for the online travel agency. Amadeus has worked with Expedia Group for nearly two decades.
The multiyear agreement, according to the announcement, “reinforces Amadeus’ commitment to accelerate the industry evolution towards modern, enhanced retailing, and to help the travel ecosystem to deliver value that supports both industry growth and an improved traveler experience.”
Chris Hodges, vice president, global connectivity and partner solutions at Expedia Group, said renewing the partnership and integrating NDC content “marks a significant step forward in our collaboration.”
Sam Abdou, executive vice president-global sales airline IT, distribution and global online travel agencies for Amadeus, said the company “is determined to enable all stakeholders to make the most of the potential that NDC can deliver, and bringing one of the largest online travel agency partners onboard is a great illustration of this.”
Building on relationships with both airlines and travel sellers, he said, “we are in a strong position to foster cross-industry collaboration on NDC to the benefit of travelers everywhere.”
