Alaska Airlines will fly to two new Mexico destinations from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) starting later this year and early in 2025. It will become the only US carrier flying to La Paz with two to three flights weekly starting Nov. 20; and the only US airline to offer daily service between Los Angeles and Monterrey, Mexico’s second largest metropolitan area, starting Feb. 13, 2025. Both routes will be served by Embraer 175 aircraft.
The new routes enable travelers to easily connect from cities across Alaska’s network, according to an announcement.
Kirsten Amrine, vice president of revenue management and network planning for Alaska Airlines, said the carrier recently celebrated 35 years of service to Mexico. According to the announcement, Alaska is the “number one” US carrier to Mexico from the West Coast with the most flights, seats and nonstop routes.
Ricardo Dueñas, CEO of Grupo Aeroportuario del Centro Norte, which operates Monterrey International Airport, said the new route “will offer access to new destinations on the West Coast, as we continue to increase international connectivity from Monterrey to meet both business and leisure travel demand.”
