Alaska Airlines is adding more than 20 daily departures from Portland, Oregon, this summer and fall. Beginning Aug. 20, routes with added flights will be Las Vegas (five daily), Ontario, California (three daily), Reno (three daily) and Sacramento (four daily). Beginning Oct. 1, routes with added fights will be Dallas-Fort Worth (two daily), Denver (two daily), Fresno, California (two daily), Medford, Oregon (two daily) and Phoenix (four daily).
Kirsten Amrine, vice president of revenue management and network planning, said the airline has been the largest carrier in Portland for more than 20 years. She said Alaska does not take that position for granted, “and it’s important for us to provide our guests with a variety of convenient flights, along with the addition of new routes.”
Alaska currently serves 53 nonstop destinations from Portland. New nonstop service to Miami started on Nov. 17, and year-round flights to Nashville begin March 14. By this summer, the airline will have more than 100 average daily departures from Portland. Image: Alaska Airlines
