Advito, the business travel consultancy arm of BCD Travel, announced the integration of its ISO (International Organization for Standardization)-certified Gate4 emissions methodology into Squake’s advanced carbon management platform. This collaboration, said the announcement, brings precision to Squake users seeking accurate air travel emissions data, allowing for more informed, sustainable choices at the point of sale.
Squake’s platform, according to the announcement, seamlessly integrates carbon emissions methodologies into a wide range of online booking tools and websites. By incorporating GATE4, said the announcement, Squake will offer its users access to one of the most robust measurement tools in the industry.
Through the integration, Squake can display GATE4 air emissions figures in the flow of leading online booking tools to influence purchase decisions, and also use it as the basis for carbon reduction, removal, and avoidance projects ¾including sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) projects ¾ or carbon tax calculations directly at the point of sale.
Julien Etchanchu, senior director of sustainable collaboration at Advito, said the partnership “is a key step in making our GATE4 methodology more widely accessible, allowing travel managers and businesses to integrate highly accurate air travel emissions data directly into their booking processes.”
Squake clients can select GATE4 as their preferred methodology ¾ displaying the figures in the booking process, accurately calculating carbon tax calculations at the point of sale, and addressing emissions with over 150 curated carbon projects, like direct air capture or SAF, available for purchase directly during the booking process. Squake clients will also have access to emissions reporting based on GATE4 data, ensuring seamless consistency from the point of sale and carbon tax calculations to reporting.
Dan Kreibich, founder of Squake, said, “Integrating GATE4 into our platform offers a high standard of accuracy in emissions reporting, which is crucial for businesses committed to sustainability.”
Etchanchu said, “Our goal is to extend the reach of GATE4 data, ensuring that more companies can benefit from the most accurate emissions calculations available.” This partnership, he said, “is a crucial step toward making sustainability an integral part of every business travel decision.”
