Six of 10 U.S. airports with the most delays last year were in Florida, according to research from InsureMyTrip, a travel insurance comparison site.

Researchers, according to an announcement, analyzed flight data for 2023 from the Department of Transportation and found airports in Florida dominated the Top 10 airports with the most delays in 2023, while airports in the New York City area had the most cancellations.

Among the findings:

  • Florida shows up six times on the list of Top 10 airports with the highest percentage of delays.
  • San Juan’s Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport had the highest delay percentage (30.97%); Newark Liberty International had the highest cancellation rate (2.84%) for 2023.
  • The majority of airports with the highest cancellation rates are on the East Coast.
